Programme

BE SURPRISED BY THE POSSIBILITIES OF SKIN-RELATED APPLICATIONS AND MEDICATION DELIVERY THROUGH MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS

During this afternoon program, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, everyone interested or working in innovations and research related to the skin and/or the application of medicines is welcome. Together, we will engage in conversation, have discussions, explore potential collaborations to shape the future beneath our skin. From young to old, there is a fun activity for everyone to get inspired.

We invite interested individuals to take a look at the magnificent TechMed Centre and discover exciting spaces resembling a hospital. Experience experiments where you can prick someone without a needle or learn about UV radiation. You can also draw on a life-sized coloring sheet and participate in crafting activities.

TECHMED TOUR

  • Operating Room: Everyone is familiar with the operating room (OR) in the hospital. But what technical gadgets can be found here nowadays, and why do we have an operating room at the UT? One of our students will tell you all about it in our hybrid OR.
  • Intensive Care: Patients with various diseases are in the intensive care unit (ICU). In our ICU at the TechMed Centre, our simulated patient can replay different scenarios. Trainee doctors can practice here before going to the clinic – come and meet this patient.
  • Ultrasound: When you hear about ultrasound, everyone thinks of a technique to see babies in the belly of a pregnant woman, but there's actually much more it can do! In our simulation room, you will discover what it is and how ultrasound works. The demo body paint takes place here. You can see where the organs are in the body.
  • Laparoscopy: At first glance, the laparoscopy room might look like a playroom, but in this room, you can experience what it's like to perform a laparoscopic surgery. If you're curious about your hand-eye coordination, come take a look! This activity is suitable for all ages.
  • E-Health House: It's important for patients to be discharged from the hospital as soon as possible and go home safely. In the e-Health House, you will learn about various sensors and other tools that can help patients with this.
